Daniel Lanois wins Producer of the Year
Daniel Lanois took home the Jack Richardson Producer of the Year award at this year's Junos for his self-produced album Here Is What Is. As well as producing his own work, Daniel has produced albums for legendary acts like U2, Brian Eno and Ron Sexsmith.

ECMA wins for Gordie Sampson and Joel Plaskett Emergency
The East Coast Music Awards were handed out Sunday, March 1 and the ceremony brought wins for Gordie Sampson and Joel Plaskett Emergency. Sampson won for Single of the Year and SOCAN Songwriter of the Year. The Entertainer of the Year award went to Joel Plaskett Emergency.
Radiohead wins Best Alternative Music Album at the Grammys
Radiohead took home the statue for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2009 Grammy Awards for In Rainbows, while the art directors for the album won the award for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package. The band also gave a much-lauded performance of "15 Step" accompanied by the USC Marching Band.
