Sultry Belgian/Swedish duo Victoria+Jean liberate two more new singles, “Where We Belong” and “Divine Love“. The first single, whose video premiered via Paste, begins with a hypnotic plucking guitar melody and Victoria’s voracious vocals and soon devolves into a hazy grunge-inspired opus, while “Divine Love” is a smooth, uptempo chiller. Both songs provide a look at the diverse spectrum that the pair are able to navigate with ease on the strength of Victoria’s powerhouse voice and Jean’s captivating riffs. One of the best pop covers in recent memory, Peter Katz turns Justin Bieber‘s hit song “Sorry” into a subtle acoustic-pop ballad.
Their first music since 2007, Pop-Punk veterans The Starting Line pick up right where they left off with Anyways EP. The three-song EP, available digitally and on 7″ vinyl, finds a reinvigorated Kenny Vasoli rekindle his love for the genre and translate it into a triumphant return. Montreal duo Love Thy Brother exhibit their take on a standout cut from Mas Ysa’s last release Seraph with a remix of “Arrows“. The group takes the already brilliant single, preserving the vocal melodies and guitar riffs to make it ready for immediate play at the club. Victoria+Jean, the music-making couple from Stockholm and Brussels, respectively, drop the first single from their forthcoming debut Divine Love, “Härligt Sverige”. Translated to English as “Glorious Sweden”, the song indeed validates its title as a wonderful ode to Victoria’s native country.
Alabama Shakes’ sophomore album, Sound & Color (ATO Records/MapleMusic Recordings), won the GRAMMY Award for Best Alternative Music Album last night. The album’s first single, “Don’t Wanna Fight,” took honors in the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song categories, bringing their awards tally to three. In addition, Canadian Shawn Everett took home Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, for his work on Sound & Color.
Their performance of “Don’t Wanna Fight” at last night’s awards ceremony left Rolling Stone commenting “[Front woman] Brittany Howard…led the Shakes through the pleading, heart-wrenching soul throwback, swallowing the theater whole with her vocals, which swung easily between ragged and rapturous.”
Nick Carter is gearing up for the release of his third studio album, All American, on March 11th via MapleMusic Recordings in Canada. In advance of the release, he has debuted the nostalgic single “19 in 99″, a lively and wildly catchy song that recalls his glory days as part of the best-selling boy band of all time: the Backstreet Boys. The single was released with an accompanying music video, brilliantly rife with all the appropriate cultural tropes from the turn of the millennium including a cameo from BSB’s A. J. McLean.

Singer/songwriter Megan Bonnell is thrilled to announce the official release date of her new album, Magnolia, with MapleMusic Recordings on April 15, 2016. Megan teamed up once again with producers extraordinaire Chris Stringer (The Wooden Sky, Timber Timbre) and Joshua Van Tassel (David Myles, Gypsophilia), to create a stunning collection of 11 new songs, showcasing a very specific time in her life. Have a listen to the first single, Can’t Have You, and pre-order the album now (details below).
Magnolia is a dynamic and emotionally endowed album that bares honest, raw and vulnerable songs. Album opener, Can’t Have You, exudes traces of romanticism. Like a handwritten love letter, it is a tender plea to let love go, “Lay me down if I can’t have you, Let me go if there’s nothing more that I can do.”
While Rayland Baxter‘s latest LP Imaginary Man gave us a keen observation of the human condition, Baxter has re-visited key tracks from the record for a new point of view on the Soho EP, which is out today and sold digitally and off stage. The EP was recorded at Dean St Studios in London that was previously Tony Visconti‘s space for recording with T. Rex, David Bowie and more. Last month, Austin Garage-Psych rockers White Denim announced their upcoming album Stiff and their first single “Holda You (I’m Psycho)“, and today they continue to build the hype by dropping another single entitled “Ha Ha Ha Ha (Yeah)“. Premiered on Nerdist on Monday, the single implements more of the funk-leaning tendencies that the band has shown to be more than capable of pulling off. After building a hearty amount of anticipation through his social media announcements and his performance on Hollywood Today, pop sensation Greyson Chance finally releases his latest single, “Hit & Run”.

NEW VIDEO FOR 19 IN 99 OUT NOW
“As unabashedly catchy as anything the Backstreet Boys ever released, Carter’s new track “19 in 99” is in the same reminiscent vein as Bowling for Soup’s hit “1985,” looking back on (and pokes fun at) his guy group’s glory days, paying homage to the year before he’d been on earth for two decades.” – People.com
Nick Carter, beloved member of the Backstreet Boys and accomplished solo artist, is gearing up for the Canadian release of his third studio album, All American, on March 11th via MapleMusic Recordings. Full details below. 19 in 99 and the All American Album pre-order will be available digitally this Friday, February 12.
Sparking his career at 12 years old, Nick Carter became an international pop superstar as the youngest member of iconic boy band, Backstreet Boys. To date, the Backstreet Boys are the best-selling boy band in history and are one of the world’s best-selling music artists of all time. Carter’s 22-year entertainment career has spanned far beyond the stages of sold out arenas, with an array of projects in television and film, and as a philanthropist and author. Carter was named one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World,” dubbed the “most gorgeous celebrity on the planet” by E! Online, and named “The Biggest Teen Idol” by Teen People Magazine.
Carter released his debut solo album, Now or Never, in 2002, which became a certified gold record in both the US and Canada and debuted at #17 on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2007, Nick reunited with his Backstreet Boys brothers for a new album and tour. The highly anticipated world tour kicked off in early 2011 with fellow boy band sensation, New Kids on the Block. In the midst of the NKOTBSB tour, Nick released his second solo album, I’m Taking Off. Then, in 2014, Carter recorded and released a collaborative album with Jordan Knight from NKOTB. The album Nick & Knight debuted at #14 on the Canadian Albums chart and was followed by a tour with over 30 sold out shows.
In the fall of 2015 Nick Carter joined season 21 of the ABC show Dancing With The Stars as a celebrity contestant and finished in 2nd place. He’ll kick off his North American tour on February 24th in Sacramento, CA. Listen + Share the EP’s rendition of Mr. Rodriguez now.
The EP was recorded at Dean St Studios in London that was previously Tony Visconti’s space for recording with T. Rex, David Bowie and more. “George Harrison’s old pump organ lives in this studio and that’s what you hear along with the guitar and vocal on ‘Mr. Rodriguez’,” Baxter explained.
Able Island is the sophomore record by Toronto based Language Arts – it’s dedicated to their home, Nova Scotia, and is inspired by the mystique of the feral Sable Island. Recorded across Canada in a myriad of locations (bedrooms, basements, hotels, clubs, alleyways, cottages, etc.) it is DIY in its truest form. Having already been released digitally, the album has received notable features/reviews in Noisey, CBC, BeatRoute, NOW Magazine, Quick Before It Melts, plus many more, and now finally becomes available physically on vinyl. Also available on vinyl for the first time is Mediac, the fourth album and triumphant return of Indie Rock veterans The Most Serene Republic after almost half a decade of silence. The ten songs on Mediac were recorded by the band over four years throughout Toronto, produced by The Most Serene Republic’s Ryan Lenssen and mixed by sonic architect David Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Super Furry Animals & Los Campesinos!). Originally released digitally on November 13, 2015, it received features in Stereogum, Exclaim!, CBC Music, and more, as well as led to a sold out show at the Horseshoe Tavern last month. Mediac is now available to purchase on a 145 gram white vinyl including a digital download card.
Forged from rock ‘n’ roll soul, blue-collar charm and a renegade attitude, rock quintet Royal Tusk are set to release their full-length debut, DealBreaker, on May 6th via MapleMusic Recordings. Produced by the award-winning Eric Ratz (Big Wreck, Monster Truck, Arkells, Billy Talent), DealBreaker captures the true raw energy Royal Tusk wield, and the result is loud and guitar-driven with hints of Americana and soul. The first single, Fever, premiered on AMBY this morning, and truly embraces a dynamic evolution in the band’s sound. Check it out HERE and pre-order the album, with instant download of Fever HERE.
