Stereophonics Return To North America With Their Chart Topping UK Album ‘Graffiti On The Train’ Which Will Be Released August 20th

North American Tour Kicks Off This September

One of the most durable and consistently successful bands ever to come out of the U.K. band scene, Stereophonics return to North America August 20th with the release of their chart topping U.K. album ‘Graffiti on the Train‘; their eighth studio album, out on MapleMusic Recordings and their own Stylus Records.

Released earlier this year in the U.K., ‘Graffiti on the Train’ entered the U.K. charts at number 3 and has remained in the Top 20 ever since. Affirming that this is their best album in a decade, the album has quickly gone gold and is well on its way to platinum status.

Written by lead vocalist and guitarist Kelly Jones and produced by Kelly Jones and Jim Lowe, ‘Graffiti on the Train’ is the final piece in the puzzle for a newly refined and cinematic Stereophonics, a band that has London’s Sunday Times calling this album their “least conventional yet”, praising its “newfound lightness of touch” and confirming “The album contains Jones’s best work of his career.”

A storyteller first and foremost Kelly Jones unravels storylines and sketches characters with poetic finesse – inspired by the screenplay he has been working on of the same name, ‘Graffiti On The Train’ is a fascinating, filmic LP unlike anything the group have attempted in the past. Loosely telling the story of two friends who flee the country after a tragic accident, the record is both reflective and surprisingly fragile.

We find Jones at the helm of all the videos from this album, which he has both written and directed including the first North American single, ‘Indian Summer.’ Upon release in the U.K. earlier this year, ‘Indian Summer’marked the band’s 26th Top 40 hit on the U.K. charts.

Having spanned decades of success selling over 9 million career albums and currently sitting at the top of U.K. album charts, this return to the other side of the pond is a tour not to be missed. Their North American tour kicks off in Philadelphia on September 19 at the Theatre of Living Arts. See below for complete tour itinerary. As one of the best live bands imported from the U.K. in the last twenty years, North America will be treated to select tour dates and an Indian Summer to be remembered. At a recent U.K. show, John Earls of the Daily Star noted, “Girls sat on their boyfriends shoulders, Welsh flags were held aloft, beer was thrown everywhere and the singalongs kept coming.”

Cold War Kids Announce Fall Headline Tour Dates & Add Dates to Summer Tour

WATCH THEIR NEW VIDEO ‘LONER PHASE’ HERE!

ORDER THEIR ALBUM ‘DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS’ VIA ITUNES HERE!

On the heels of a successful spring tour, Cold War Kids have extended their headlining North American tour by adding summer dates kicking off today at Plush in St. Louis, MO.  Fall tickets will be available via www.coldwarkids.com. Cold War Kids have also released a video to accompany “Loner Phase,” an infectious song from their fourth studio album, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, released April 2nd on Downtown Records and MapleMusic Recordings. Consequence of Sound says, “Loner Phase, is chock-full of classic CWK.  While bobbing basslines
and snappy drums line the track up nicely with the band’s earlier work, there are distinct signs of the aforementioned growth.”

“Fits and starts of brilliance on the first three records, Cold War Kids have hit their stride and locked into a very intense groove for the fourth, ” says Esquire Magazine. NME adds, “(Dear Miss Lonelyhearts) has gone back to the sort of idiosyncratic weirdness that made us fall for them in the first place.”  Relix states, “There’s a natural flow to the songs on this disc … a complexly drawn collection. And that blues sensibility you always liked best about them is happily still there.”

Martha Wainwright Announces A New Canadian Tour With A VIP Fan Experience

martha
Check out the VIP Fan Experience package for Martha Wainwright HERE!

Coming from a family of musical royalty (most notably Kate McGarrigle and brother Rufus Wainwright) Martha has returned to Canada to support her critically acclaimed record ‘Come Home To Mama’ which was released in October of last year.  The album was recorded predominately at Sean Lennon’s New York City home and produced by Yuka C. Honda (Cibo Matto, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon).  The record has the passionate angst of her previous efforts, as well as the crafty pop of  ‘I Know Your Married But I’ve Got Feelings Too.’

This past February Martha also released ‘Trauma: Chansons de la Serie Tele #04.’ The record was recorded entirely in French and is the emotional backdrop for the hit Radio-Canada television show, Trauma. Filmed in Quebec and created by Fabienne Larouche, Trauma transports the viewers into the lives of those who work in the Trauma Hospital Saint-Arsene.  Fans can expect to hear songs from both releases during this tour.

This new tour has Martha partaking in Fan Experience.  Fan Experience is a VIP ticket package and ticket pre-sale provider that works with a wide range of artists to offer fans a premium ticket combined with unique encounters with their favourite musicians.  The Martha “experience” includes one reserved ticket in the first 5 rows, or one general admission ticket with VIP early entry, a post show meet-and-greet with a  photo-op, a Trauma digital download, and an exclusive 7-inch vinyl and tour laminate.  More dates and packages will be announced over the coming weeks.

Houses to Join Baths on North American Tour

All dates in support of upcoming album ‘A Quiet Darkness’ out April 16th on Downtown Records and MapleMusic Recordings.

Pre-order ‘A Quiet Darkness” via iTunes Canada Here.

Los Angeles duo Houses have announced that they’ll be joining Baths as main support on his upcoming North American tour. Coming off a strong SXSW showing, an upcoming sold out San Francisco show and having already been announced as main support on Cold War Kids April dates complemented with a remix of their single”Miracle Mile” which premiered on FILTER, Houses are on track to have a huge 2013. Starting May 23 in Portland and wrapping up June 29th in San Francisco, Houses will be spending much of the next four months on the road in support of their upcoming sophomore album A Quiet Darkness – out April 16th on Downtown Records & MapleMusic Recordings.

The narrative of the album tells the story of a husband and wife separated in the midst of a nuclear disaster and their attempt to reunite with one another along the Highway 10 in California before their inevitable deaths, each song taking place in different abandoned houses along the way. Real life couple Dexter Tortoriello and Megan Messina made the trek themselves multiple times, to record sound and video at these abandoned houses that are featured on the album. The album’s celestial ambiance and wanderlust concepts are conveyed throughout the recording with techniques employed by Dexter Tortoriello’s production and the stark contrast between the minimal electronic pulses, found sounds and meandering and melancholy harmonies. The ethereal sound on which Houses was built is woven through A Quiet Darkness, the 2013 release shows a deep and pensive side to a band who clearly encompass a darker side of bliss; a bold new bravado that will resonate with anyone who has ever experienced love and loss.
