Pre-Order ‘All A Man Should Do’ Via iTunes HERE
Lucero is set to release their new album ‘All A Man Should Do‘ on September 18 via ATO Records and MapleMusic Recordings.
This new album contains some of the most resonant lyrics Ben Nichols has ever written. They read like chapters from his life: the duality of relationships, getting older, finding where you want to be in this world and more. “I was 15 years old in 1989,” Nichols explained. “This record sounds like the record I wanted to make when I was 15. It just took 25 years of mistakes to get it done.”
Lucero have included a cover close to their heartstrings on the new record: Big Star‘s ‘I’m In Love With A Girl’ and it features Big Star drummer Jody Stephens. Working with producer Ted Hutt (Old Crow Medicine Show, Flogging Molly) for a third time at Memphis’s Ardent Studios, the band felt comfortable enough to take some chances with a palette of new tones that sound understated yet powerful, bringing life to the stories behind the lyrics without overshadowing them. Sun Club‘s debut LP titled ‘The Dongo Durango‘ joyously deconstructs the traditional pop song and rebuilds it with off-kilter time signatures, gleefully unhinged vocals, and sunny hooks that sink deep into your already fevered brain. The record will be out October 30 via ATO Records and MapleMusic Recordings.
The members of Sun Club became a band as childhood friends over ten years ago and with the release of a well-received 7″ and EP have toured endlessly ever since, moving from basement gigs to bars to opening up shows for the likes of Alvvays, FIDLAR, and Fat White Family.
Folk-pop singer-songwriter JP Hoe releases a collection of personal, raw and completely uplifting songs with soaring vocals and memorable choruses in his new album ‘Hideaway’. The deluxe edition adds three re-recordings of songs that originally appeared on JP’s highly praised 2012 album ‘Mannequin’. Sing along to the lyric video (equipped with guitar cords) for the album’s single, ‘Beautifully Crazy’ below.

JP Hoe will be releasing his anticipated new full-length album ‘Hideaway‘ on August 21 via MapleMusic Recordings. Today, however, fans can get an early listen with an exclusive stream on A Music Blog Yea?.
Recorded in Winnipeg, the 10-track record was produced by Dana Matyas (Imaginary Cities), mastered by João Carvalho (City & Colour, Serena Ryder, Sloan) and features Andy Stochanksy as co-writer on four tracks – including the first single ‘Beautifully Crazy.‘
The record follows Hoe’s highly praised ‘Mannequin‘, which was released in 2012. In fact, three songs from that album have been re-recorded and are available on the digital deluxe version of ‘Hideaway.’ Of the album, the six-time Western Canadian Music Award nominated Hoe comments, “I loved making this record, from the song-writing to the final master. Some of these songs have such a profound meaning to me, I can still get lost in them when played live. I sincerely hope they connect with people as much as they were intended to.” Continue reading…

On November 13, 2015 King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will release ‘Paper Mâché Dream Balloon‘ via ATO Records and MapleMusic Recordings.
Starting out in 2010 as a solid garage rock group, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard followed their collective muse wherever it chose to lead them. For their latest opus, ‘Paper Mâché Dream Balloon,’ they initially thought it was going to be filled with the darker, heavier material that the band has been playing live of late. But front man Stu Mackenzie soon decided that it was time to put aside the longer, more conceptual pieces and go in a completely new direction.

Pre-Order ‘Age Of Transparency’ Via iTunes HERE
Arthur Ashin, a.k.a. Autre Ne Veut, announces the release of ‘Age of Transparency,’ a genre-bending album that manipulates and fuses jazz, electronic and alternative elements. It will be released on October 2, 2015 via Downtown Records and Fontana North.
He also shares the video for lead single, ‘World War Pt. 2.’ (directed by BANGS, a.k.a Allie Avital). Citing Michael Haneke films Funny Games and Amour, where “the horrific and grotesque emerge from mundane, sunlight environments,” as inspirations, Avital says Ashin and she aimed to create “a metaphor for the many burdens we carry with us.”
‘Age of Transparency’ marks the second step in a trilogy exploring the difficulty of making personal connections in an impersonal time. “The title comes from marketing jargon,” Ashin explains.”It’s a term for the place we’re in now, where truth and transparency are just ways to sell things and honesty is its own kind of performance.” Coming from an artist who pushes his voice and body to their breaking points, it might seem like a strange admission. But for Ashin, close is as close as you can get.”Transparency is an impossibility,” he says. “It’s more about trying to be transparent and falling on your face in the process.”
