New Releases – Rodrigo y Gabriela ’9 Dead Alive’ & Old 97′s ‘Most Messed Up’

Rodrigo y Gabriela play face to face, guitar versus guitar, bursting with melodic energy and rhythmic invention on their new album ’9 Dead Alive’. Their first record in 5 years celebrates individuals whose contributions to human rights, literature, and philosophy are still felt in the 21st century. Watch them play Somnium (inspired by Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz: 1651 – 1695) and Torito (inspired by animals and nature) live at Red Rocks. Americana legends Old 97′s return with their new album ‘Most Messed Up’ featuring guest appearances from Tommy Stinson (The Replacements) and Jon Rauhouse (Neko Case) on lap-steel. The record is a raucous 12-track meditation on 20 years in music which, through Rhett Miller’s lyrics, dives into deep wounds and emotional scars. See their Summer North American tour dates here.
