Alabama’s legendary roots rockers Drive-By Truckers enter the double digits with their 10th studio album ‘English Oceans’. The record’s 13 tracks show an almost equal split of writing credits between co-front men Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley, watch the band perform Cooley’s track ‘Made Up English Oceans’ in the Lyric Theater in Birmingham, Alabama. The boys are on a North American tour right now supported by Blitzen Trapper and Shovels & Rope, see full dates here. Ume (pronounced “Ooo-May”) make their MMR debut with ‘Monuments‘. The Austin band play the hard rock equivalent of IDM layering meaty chords and ripping lead lines with melodic keyboard. Listen to the first single to drop from ‘Monuments’ titled ‘Chase It Down’. The very first song SomeKindaWonderful recorded together, ‘Reverse’ premiered yesterday on Idolator and is now up on iTunes. Frontman Jordy Towers tells Idolator “‘Reverse’ is a story song told in reverse. It’s a true story actually … Something about telling a story in reverse is almost more emotional and revealing to me and it just naturally came out in that form when I wrote it.”

Alabama’s legendary roots rockers Drive-By Truckers return on March 4 with ‘English Oceans,’ their 10th studio album, and first since 2011′s ‘Go-Go Boots.’
The record’s 13 tracks show an almost equal split of writing credits between co-front men Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley, with the first song to be shared, ‘Made Up English Oceans,’ composed by the latter.
The band recently filmed an acoustic performance of ‘Made Up English Oceans’ at the currently-under-renovation Lyric Theater in Birmingham, Alabama. “As it is, it’s like a time capsule offering an example of the beauty of a bygone era, and the ugliness of the segregated society it was part of,” Cooley told Speakeasy. “I thought it made a perfect setting for a song about how using beliefs, fears and prejudices to acquire power still works as well as ever.”
J. Roddy Walston & The Business return with their third studio album ”Essential Tremors”. Produced by Grammy-winning engineer Mark Neill (The Black Keys), the 11 tracks hold fast to true rock and roll, if you don’t believe us see “Heavy Bells”. Vinyl copies of “Essential Tremors” include a bonus 7″. One of MMR’s newest signings Wildcat! Wildcat! released their 4-track self-titled EP today. Feed The Beat paired them with Passion Pit for one of the coolest shows of SXSW and made a video for it. Catch them in Toronto September 17th with MS MR at The Pheonix. Southern rock veterans Drive-By Truckers reissue of the 2000 live album “Alabama Ass Whuppin’”. Recorded in clubs throughout Georgia during the 1999 Pizza Deliverance Tour, the album is coming for the first time to vinyl on a 180 gram 2LP, as well as previously hard-to-find CD.
