‘We Are The Reckoning’, is a striking new collection of 11 original songs from JUNO-nominated singer-songwriter and recently crowned Best Male Vocalist in the popular NOW Magazine Best-Of-Toronto 2014 reader’s poll, Peter Katz. His first release on MMR was produced by Bill Lefler and Royal Wood, one of the label’s most respected and well known artists – watch them duet on the touching first single ‘Brother’. Peter is set to tour the new album in Europe throughout April before returning to Canada for an extensive string of dates across the country. The future of power pop is in capable hands, as Taylor Knox releases his debut solo EP ‘Lines’. With six tracks, each consistently clocking in at around three minutes, ‘Lines’ is the perfect first taste of Knox’s irresistible melodic gifts. Taylor sat down with Noisey to discuss the origins of his solo music after backing up the likes of Hayden, Owen Pallett, Rich Aucoin, and The Golden Dogs. Recorded in what he calls, “a ramshackle, shanty-ass apartment on the south side of Nashville.” the album featuring contributions from songstress Laura Marling, guitarist Robert Ellis, trumpeter Nick Etwell of Mumford & Sons and Odessa Jorgensen who lends harmonies and fiddle to a number of tunes.
Two Gallants’ Adam Stephens (guitar, harmonica, keyboard and vocals) and Tyson Vogel (drums, guitar and vocals) spent one month recording their 5th album ‘We Are Undone’ with Karl Derfler (Tom Waits) at Panoramic House in Northern California. Austin psychedelic rock outfit The Bright Light Social Hour announces the release of their sophomore album, Space Is Still the Place on March 10, 2015 via MapleMusic Recordings and Frenchkiss Records. The 10-track collection was written, performed, produced and engineered by the band at their home studio in Austin, TX, and mixed by Chris Coady (Beach House, TV On The Radio, Future Islands).
The Bright Light Social Hour convened while Curtis Roush and Jack O’Brien attended graduated school together at the University of Texas in Austin. Following graduation, they released their first self-titled LP in 2010. In the months and years that followed, their songs won over their hometown, and they scored an unprecedented six awards at the SXSW 2011 Austin Music Awards.
Space is Still the Place encompasses the idea of a “Future South,” which was developed by the band after touring across the country, heavily in the South, over the last few years. While on the road, the band usually stayed with people in various cities instead of hotels and gained a new perspective on the struggle young Americans faced after experiencing it first-hand.

As more and more radio stations add ‘Gold,’ the mesmerizing single from his full-length debut ‘Built On Glass,’ Australian electro-soul artist Chet Faker is treating his fans to the ‘iTunes Session’ EP, available starting Friday, Nov. 28.

Drive-By Truckers have released the Black Ice Vérité deluxe edition accompaniment to their most acclaimed album in years English Oceans. Featuring an additional 8 tracks with a trio of acoustic recordings from their Bannaroo performance along with new, old, and recreated tracks from this years HeAthens Homecoming Weekend at the 40 Watt Club in the band’s hometown of Athens, GA. On the third self-titled album from LA hardcore outfit The Bronx‘s alter ego Mariachi el Bronx the band ditched the rulebook and dusted off old sequencers, synths and an ARP. The 10 striking songs – featuring singles ‘New Beat’ and ‘Wildfires’ - that resulted fuse traditional melodies with modern ambience.
