New Releases – Ex Cops ‘Daggers’

On their sophomore effort ‘Daggers’ Ex Cops bring the hook-heavy blast of ‘90s alt-rock into a new era. The duo of Amalie Bruun and Brian Harding paired themselves with producers Billy Corgan and Justin Raisen in addition to co-writing with Ariel Pink to return guitar-pop to the grand stage that it deserves. New Releases – Drive-By Truckers ‘English Oceans (Deluxe Edition)’

Drive-By Truckers have released the Black Ice Vérité deluxe edition accompaniment to their most acclaimed album in years English Oceans. Featuring an additional 8 tracks with a trio of acoustic recordings from their Bannaroo performance along with new, old, and recreated tracks from this years HeAthens Homecoming Weekend at the 40 Watt Club in the band’s hometown of Athens, GA. The DVD contains footage from their 40 Watt Club performance. Vinyl copies of Black Ice Vérité are pressed on white vinyl and packaged with new artwork, seen below.

New Releases – Mariachi el Bronx ‘Mariachi el Bronx (III)’

On the third self-titled album from LA hardcore outfit The Bronx‘s alter ego Mariachi el Bronx the band ditched the rulebook and dusted off old sequencers, synths and an ARP. The 10 striking songs – featuring singles ‘New Beat’ and ‘Wildfires’ - that resulted fuse traditional melodies with modern ambience. New Release – Rival Boys ‘Animal Instincts’

Toronto’s very own fuzzed-out indie rock band Rival Boys have released their full-length debut ‘Animal Instincts’. The trio recorded the album at Revolution Recording Studios with Joe Dunphy who also recorded their ‘Ice Storm’ EP live off the floor earlier this year. New Releases – Phish ‘Fuego’, Vacationer ‘Relief’ & SomeKindaWonderful ‘SomeKindaWonderful’

Legendary jam band Phish have returned with their 12th studio album ‘Fuego’. Originally reuniting out of genuinely wanting t hang out, eventually the band sat down to try to write in a way they never had before. Listen to guitarist Trey Anastasio and keyboardist Page McConnell talk about writing the songs across 5 notepads via NPR. Of course the only real way to experience Phish is live, check out their tour dates here to see if they hit your town. Vacationer return with their highly anticipated follow-up record ‘Relief’. The Philly-based group, consisting of The Starting Line’s Kenny Vasoli along with Body Language’s Matthew Young and Grant Wheeler, refine their months on the road into tighter and more powerful tracks. Watch the recently released video for the infectiously sunny ‘The Wild Life’. Cleveland alt-rock group SomeKindaWonderful  have released their self-titled debut album. New Releases – Royal Wood ‘The Burning Bright’ Vinyl & Language Arts ‘Wonderkind’ Vinyl

Royal Wood released his third full length ‘The Burning Bright’ this March and it is now available pressed on vinyl! Watch him perform the album track ‘White Flag’ live for CBC. Toronto’s Kristen Cudmore made her MMR debut earlier this year with Language Arts‘ album ‘Wonderkind’ which is also available now on vinyl. Watch the music video for the record’s title track here.

New Release – Dawn Golden ‘Still Life’

Dexter Tortoriello of Houses has followed up 2011′s ‘Blow’ EP with his debut solo LP ‘Still Life’ under the moniker Dawn Golden. The Fader premiered the video for lead single ‘All I Want’ about which Dexter said: ”We wanted to show the beauty and despair and impossible realities that might exist behind those moments of mania and delusion.” Dexter will head out on a North American tour in support of the record this Summer with dates to be announced soon.
